Jacky + Amanda

A multicultural wedding with a traditional chinese tea ceremony.

One of our favourite parts about shooting weddings is the opportunity to see and be a part of so many different cultural traditions we otherwise would never see. Jacky and Amanda had two ceremonies! They wanted to embrace Jacky’s traditional Chinese background by incorporating a chinese tea ceremony into their day. This process symbolizes the two families joining together in bond and is a way for the new couple to say thanks to their parents. It was such a colourful and unique ceremony we were so excited to be a part of.

Having two ceremonies and two dresses meant for one long day (and a lot of driving). It was totally worth it, though. We thrive on the challenges these days bring us. After the tea ceremony we headed to Geraldo’s at LaSalle Park in Burlington for the Catholic ceremony. Geraldo’s is a beautiful lakefront building that provided a lovely covered outdoor wedding on the garden terrace and a picturesque backdrop for the posed formal photos.
